Revive is an art therapy initiative aimed at designing art and music therapy solutions for

Georgia State University (GSU). The goal was to create a cohesive and engaging

experience to help students manage stress during high-pressure academic periods. The

proposal combined graphic design, interior design, UI/UX, and user-centered research to create an integrated therapeutic environment.

Brief:

Problem

Research and surveys revealed that GSU students experienced high stress levels during midterms and finals. Existing therapeutic resources were limited in visibility and engagement, and there was no dedicated space or cohesive digital platform for students to access these resources. This highlighted the need for a thoughtfully designed physical and digital solution.

Reflection

This project highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the value of combining physical and digital design elements to create a unified experience.

Solution

The proposal combined physical and digital elements to promote student well-being through art and music therapy. Key concepts included wearable art suits for calming comfort, an AI-generated art platform for personalized canvases, ASMR and vibro-therapy sessions, and modular Revive Domes with sensory features. The graphic design established a cohesive visual identity inspired by the domes and wearable art, integrating 3D elements to connect physical and digital components. Based on survey feedback and user testing, we used calming colors, circular forms, and interactive elements for an engaging aesthetic. A user-friendly app and website, along with interactive posters and wayfinding signage, ensured seamless access to therapy resources and visual consistency.

Challenges

One challenge was ensuring visual and functional cohesion between the physical structures, graphic design elements, and digital platforms. Collaborating effectively with the interior design team to integrate 3D elements into the overall concept required careful planning. Additionally, testing multiple design options with users to finalize colors, shapes, and interactive elements added complexity. For the app and website, balancing aesthetics with usability and functionality was another key challenge.

My Role

As one of the graphic designers, I led the development of the visual identity and digital interfaces. My contributions included designing the logo and visual identity system, as well as the UI/UX for the app and website to ensure a cohesive and user-friendly experience. I also contributed to the creation of signage for wayfinding and collaborated closely with the interior designers to incorporate 3D elements that connected the physical and digital aspects of the project. Additionally, I conducted user testing to refine the color palettes, shapes, and navigation systems, ensuring the final designs aligned with user preferences and project goals.
